Finally got out on the water last weekend, hitting up the lakes in northern New Mexico. Was after some trout, using a mix of rooster tails and power bait. The weather was pretty decent — a bit overcast but warm enough that I thought the fish might be active. The water clarity wasn't great, though, which made things trickier.
I fished solo, and it was one of those days where you really had to work for it. Had a few bites but only landed two decent rainbows, both around 12 inches. Lost one right at the boat — frustrating! Overall, it felt good to be out there even if I didn't come home with a big haul. Curious to hear how things are going for everyone else. How's the fishing been in your neck of the woods?
