I’m fairly new to this whole hunting and shooting lifestyle, but I’m hooked so far. I am trying to get to know the terrain, seasons and good advice on local game.

Hey welcome, I am pretty sure you will learn a lot here

To become proficient in the shooting and hunting fields (2 different activities) requires patience, concentration, and experience. You will find that over the years your abilities will lead you expand your activities and skills. Please don't be like the Indian who rode to the top of the hill, looked around, and rode off in all directions...when starting out focus on one or two specific areas within hunting and/or shooting and become comfortable with them; by doing so it will lead you to new areas of discovery. Most shooters and hunters hold very strong opinions which sometimes conflict, and you will have to develop your own opinions through experience (some good and some not so good) as you progress. However, just remember to practice the one major area that pervades both activities and that is Safety. Welcome to the forum.
