Hey everyone, just wanted to start a thread about our local gun shops. We all know how important it is to find a place where you can trust the folks behind the counter. What makes a gun shop trustworthy for you? I've had some great experiences and a couple of not-so-great ones. There's a shop in my town that has a killer selection of used guns and decent prices, but their transfer fees are a bit high. How about you? Any shops you'd recommend, or maybe avoid? Let's hear your stories! If you have specific locations or insights on their inventory, that'd be super helpful for everyone.

DK Pawn in Silver City is a good, friendly shop with a lot of inventory. They charge $40 to do a transfer. In Alamogordo I used Basin Firearms. In Las Cruces, Crossroads Firearms -- not a shop but a "coffee table FFL" and Steve charges just $20 for a transfer.

Sadly, the old line gun stores in Albuquerque are vanishing. Charlie's threw in the towel except for gunsmithing last December. Ron Peterson's is online only and will close in September (he wants to retire for good). All that's left are big box and plastic fantastic stores.
