I am going to guess that many of us have had firearms that we don’t have any more which, in retrospect, we wish we would have kept. If so, I pose the question to you: What were they? My regrets were:

1.) An original Winchester Model 1892, Saddle Ring Carbine, chambered in .44 WCF (.44-40.)

2.) A Model 1873 Colt SA (First series, 5-1/2” barrel) chambered in .44 Special.

3.) A Model 1900 Swiss Military Luger chambered in .30 cal. Luger.

I regret letting go of a pre-ban AR and my first deer rifle. At the time it made sense but hindsight is always expensive.

The first gun I ever bought was a Colt SAA in .45 LC. It was 7.5" bbl, nickel plated, ivory grips, and a detachable stock. I was raised watching Clint Eastwood's spaghetti westerns, and liked the Lee Van Cleef character Col. Mortimer. But at 14, the gun and stock, leather holster rig full of ammo was pretty heavy. The holster tied down around my knee. I wore it once dove hunting (add another 15 lbs of shotgun gear) and I was worn out by the end of the day. My dad laughed and said: "Now you know why cowboys ride horses".

A year later I transitioned into my interests in the Army, so thus I needed an AR. But at 15, I had to sell a gun to buy a gun (yard work didn't make that much money). I sold it at as a loss, but paid for an AR. I still remember that pistol with fondness.
