When you drop a deer, do you handle the butchering yourself or take it to a processor? I've done both, but I'm curious what you all prefer

I’ve done both too… if it’s a quick hunt close to home I’ll break it down myself, but long trips or late nights, I happily let the processor earn his paycheck. 😅

I process it myself, the real saving isn't cash, it's getting exactly the cuts I want, plus the best burger grind. Invest in a good vacuum sealer, it's a game-changer

Processors are great for convenience, but nothing beats knowing exactly how your deer is handled from start to finish
Exactly , doing it yourself gives full control over the process and cuts. It’s more work, but feels rewarding knowing every step and making sure nothing goes to waste.

Makes sense, same here. If I’m close to home, I’ll handle it myself, but after a long hunt or late night, dropping it off is worth it.
