Defense Load - What Did You Choose?

Being cooped up in the house for 2 days because of the super cold weather that hit about two thirds of the U.S., and this part of New Mexico (Roswell, Artesia, Carlsbad, Hobbs, etc.), I have been plotting some reloading development activities for use when the weather turns warmer, and which gave me the idea for this thread. Thus the following: Most, or perhaps all of us, have a preferred handgun load (Factory Cartridge or Hand Load) we have settled upon to use for what I call a “Defense Load” for the particular handgun/s and caliber/s we have chosen. I would please ask you to share what you have chosen…I would speculate your various responses would prove to be most interesting.

My choices are as follows: (most are Handloads)

9mm Luger – Speer 124gr Gold Dot Hollow Point (GDHP) with Power Pistol
.38 Special – Speer 135gr GDHP with Power Pistol
.357 Magnum – Speer 158gr GDHP with H-110
.44 Special – Speer 240gr ½ Jacket (no longer manufactured) with Unique
.45 ACP – Speer 230gr GDHP with Power Pistol & my Factory Load is:
Winchester PDX1 Defender 230gr Bonded JHP
