I have always used iron sights, so I put a red dot on for fun and holy crap! My accuracy improved immediately and target acquisition is so much faster. Why did I wait so long?

At first, red dots felt weird for like one mag, then I got it. Once I could just look instead of trying to find the dot, shooting felt easier and faster right off the bat.

I tried one and just never got comfortable with it, irons just seem more natural, at least on a pistol. Where I did notice a great improvement is on my Beretta 1301 Patrol. I've only gotten to 50 yds so far, but at 50 I can put 5 slugs into an 8" circle. 00 buckshot was a much larger pattern at 50 and 71/4 shot wide open but still some on target.

Looking to move that out to 100, but damn, those slugs are hard on the shoulder even with a geood recoil absorber.
