I'm looking to buy my first rimfire rifle and I'm thinking .22 LR bolt-actions or simple semi-autos for fun shooting and small game. Something that has low weight and light recoil is what I need. Thanks

A .22 LR is always a good choice, if you want something light with not much recoil, take a look at the Ruger 10/22 semi-auto or a simple Savage Mark II bolt-action

And if you want to make very tight groups at the shooting range, look at the Tikka T1X. Not the cheapest choice out there, but not ridiculous either.

As mentioned above a Ruger 10/22 would be a good choice. The 10/22 is reliable, rugged, proven, and has an untold amount of add-on/replacement accessories from which to choose should you wish to do so at a later date + the price is reasonable.

If you want accuracy and hunting, get a bolt action...for fun and less kick, get a 10/22 semi auto. The Ruger 10/22 is a great pick
