The weirdest things people believe

I want to hear the absolutely wildest misconceptions you've encountered. Someone once asked me if we hunt with assault rifles. Another thought deer season meant all deer everywhere. What's the strangest or most ridiculous thing a non-hunter has said to you?

It wasn't crazy, but he was asking if seasons match up with the calendar the same way all over the world every year

Someone asked if we chase deer from trucks, which is against the law and shows no respect for ethics, science, or reality..

A while back a neighbor of mine asked me what a black powder hunting season was, and was curious to know if bullets were loaded with different color gun powder for different types of game.

A corollary to Silvertip's post is the number of times I have heard non-shooters refer to powder that is not black powder as white powder.
And though not a weird belief, a weird concept, to me anyway, is calling bullets heads.
I worked for Sportsman's Warehouse for a short time about 15 years ago and we often had guys walk up to the gun counter and say I need a box of heads, or where do you keep the heads. Huh?
