My biggest lesson at the range

I went to the range last weekend feeling pretty confident about my shooting. An old timer next to me watched me struggle with my groups and casually mentioned my grip looked loose, it felt silly but I let him show me proper thumb placement and holy crap, my accuracy improved instantly...sometimes the basics bite you in the ass when you think you know everything.

Yeah, we learn every day, even out on the range. I’ve learned the hard way not to brush off corrections when they’re needed, it makes a world of difference once you swallow the pride

Those old timers have seen it all and they usually know what they're talking about. I'm more open to advice now after that experience.

I’ve been there too, it’s wild how one small tweak like grip or trigger control can flip everything around. Those old timers have a lifetime of free coaching if you just listen... best class you’ll ever get at the range. 😄

The old timer was right, but here's the kicker: the real lesson ain't about the grip. The biggest mistake folks make is thinking that money on a fancy rifle or a high-dollar optic will buy em skill. Nope... Marksmanship is muscle memory, not a credit card purchase. You could slap a five-hundred-dollar scope on a shooter with a bad grip and they'll still miss. Focus on the basics, not the bling

This. As Frank Galli owner of Snipers Hide so aptly put it" You can't miss fast enough to win a gunfight. Get out there and practice."
