I've been looking for a super lightweight stock for my long action Rem. M700 in 6.5AI. I've been looking at the Mesa Precision but the prices are off the wall!!! Somebody can manufacture a complete revolver for 125 bucks, but we have to pay near a thousand dollars or more for an American made sh@# stock? What are your opinions? A complete rimfire rifle is available for 1/3 less than the starting price of a nice stock.
I know it's new tech but....give us a break!
Look at the chassis stocks that cost over a grand!

Carbon fiber stocks are cool but the price can be crazy. I held one that was super light but I still can't talk myself into spending that much.

As Alan mentioned, if youre toting it over rough ground, all day, its a big help. Other than that..."there's a sucker born every minute." On a target rifle you want the weight to absorb recoil.

Correctdemundo Howard. Just like your CCW choice in carrying. With hunting, you are carrying way longer than you're shooting. Every ounce saved while trudging up a mountain is worth it. When I moved here 30 yrs ago (I was 40), my first hunting trip dammed near killed me with the weight I carried on level ground. Most people here in NM hunt from vehicles or use 4-wheelers. I prefer to stalk.

If you are such a hunter and have the money, carbon fiber is the way to go. You can always switch out when you go to the target range.

I think there is an operative principle here that when an accessory "would be really nice to have" but isn't really necessary, the sky is the limit on what the source can attempt to charge. Suppressors come to mind. I refuse to believe these things cost anywhere near $1,000 to manufacture and am frankly thrilled that Lyman is puncturing this balloon by coming to market with suppressors in the $200-$300 range.
