For me, new management took over and suddenly everything's a safety violation. We can't draw from a holster, can't do rapid fire, can't shoot anything they deem 'too loud,' and the RSO stands behind you critiquing every shot. I get safety, but when the rules make it impossible to actually train, it's time to find a new spot

I went to a range back in Oklahoma that had a high steel fence with a gate you had to lock behind you, the gate heavy enough to stop a pick up truck. Then you had to go down a 40 foot steel stair to get to the shooting area. this was 15 miles from the nearest medical service of any type. I tried to reason with them about what would happen if someone got hurt and it took EMS 15 min to get there, another 5 to cut throught the fence, then 10 more to get someone up the stairs and onto the ambulance. It was a good old boy situation and like talking to the wind. I finally told them to fuck off and went to a much better range.

That sounds like a liability nightmare. Good call finding a range valuing safety and access

I tried to tell them that but 'good ole boys' dont listen to newcomer's. I was made to feel about as welcome as bad breath.
